                                                                                                SASIKALA

 We found Sasikala several years ago sitting outside her house.  Stricken with severe cerebral palsy, she was able to move only a little by crawling.  Her mother had died recently and she was left in the care of her alcoholic brother.  He left her each day with plate of food and bowl of water.

She is very intelligent and always happy, even with the difficult circumstance she lives under.  Her brother leaves her for long periods of time and when he does come home, it is often to sell a family possession for liquor.

Over the years we have helped Sasikala with among other things: clothes, videos, a rolling dolly so she can move around, a ramp and shower.

Trapped at home for her 40 years, she knows little of the world.  We take her on frequent short excursions so she can go shopping or visit the beach. 

There is not a more grateful recipient of our help in the entire country!
